KINGDOM MINDSET (BEAR FRUIT)

Every spiritual gift (blessing) is required to bear fruit! It does matter the size of our spiritual gift, what matters most is that we use our spiritual gifts to glorify God and to bless others. When factoring our gifts we must do so with a kingdom mindset. Oftentimes, we feel that our gift is insignificant however, that’s Satan’s lie. God’s truth says that every spiritual gift is important!! So today, know that we bear fruit by abiding in Christ because apart from Him we can do nothing. Remember, we have the Spirit of Jesus Christ living within us. We are deeply and intimately connected to the Life Source that will enable us to use our spiritual gifts to reach, touch, encourage, and empower a dying world.

ALL THINGS……

Good, bad, or indifferent God is engineering all of our circumstances. In other words all things work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His [perfecting] purpose.(Romans 8:28) So today loosen the grip of disappointment, frustration, and aggravation. Grasp unto the unchanging hand of God and trust Him to see you through. Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ever ask through His power that is working in us!! (Ephesians 3:20)

#Glory to God in the church!
#Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus!
#Glory down all the generations!
#Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes! (MSG)

FREEDOM FROM CONDEMNATION

Before the cross and after the fall of the first Adam the world was filled with sin, fear, guilt, division, hate, shame, blame, alienation, and death. At the birth of the second Adam (Christ) and after the cross (death, burial, and resurrection) the world was given the opportunity to be filled with forgiveness, harmony, peace, healing, love, deliverance, reconciliation, freedom, liberty, restoration, and eternal salvation. So today remember there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Therefore live in the freedom and security that Christ offers you and every believer!

NEGATIVTY DOES THE BODY BAD

Negativity is not an event it’s a choice. Sure, unexpected things happen and mistakes are made however, it’s how we respond to difficulty that controls our attitude. Satan’s tactics is attractively luring because it offers immediate self ratification. IOWs and let’s be honest it feels good to lash out rather than taking a timeout. Negativity is a self induced human deficiency that robs, steals, and kills our relationships both naturally and spiritually. So today make it a priority not to engage in negativity an know this, as I was typing this devotional, I was immediately tested and yes, I failed however, I still thank God for being a God of a second chance and for sending His angel of conviction (my wife) to keep me on track!!

PEOPLE CHANGE…GOD DOESN’T!!

God is the one great constant, the infinitely immovable rock upon which all reality rests and exists. When everything else around us is shifting, modifying, sliding, morphing, evolving, and moving, Malachi reminded me today that, I can put my hope in The Lord who never changes. (Malachi 3:6) So today like me, be reminded that it doesn’t matter how our culture incessantly redefines morality, integrity, rewrite history, and/or champion relativism, ask God to give you courage, strength, and wisdom to cling/cleave to Him and to His perennial changeless character.

When we look at what we ‘do’ have and not what we ‘don’t’ have we will gain a greater sense of appreciation for what God has already done through and in our lives. So today don’t compare your life to what others have rather compare your life to what others don’t have and watch your attitude shift from deprivation to appreciation.

LEAVING GARBAGE BEHIND

“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” Genesis 2:24 Did you know this principle is equally applicable to overcoming burdens, defeat, worries, sin related issues, anxieties, depression, and frustrations. You see, when we take our issues to God’s alter what we are really doing is leaving garbage and cleaving to His holiness, peace, comfort, forgiveness, and love. So today no matter what, cleave to God and leave whatever issues you have at His alter and live in freedom and unity with Christ!

“Cast your burden on the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22

REAL WORSHIP

We bring glory to God’s great and mighty name by offering Him our best. Too often we are smitten by routine worship. It behooves us not to get caught up with a ho-hum attitude towards our worship to God. “Worship is never business as usual!” Our worship to Him should always be fresh, exciting, revering, and majestically fulfilling! So today remember to put God first above all things.

“But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.” Malachi 4:2

HOLY LIVING

I asked my kids today; “What does holy mean and what does it mean to live a holy life?” They both related holiness with exerting human efforts. In part, they are correct. However, living a holy lifew is not about merely exerting human efforts rather it is about letting go. Human efforts alone is never enough on its own. The ultimately solution is to live holy lives in the power of the Messiah. So today know that when Jesus lives within us by His spirit, we can turn to Him daily for renewed power to live as God desires……not in our strength but in His!

GOT OBSTACLES?

Obstacles in life are not meant to destroy us rather, they are intended to fortify us. No matter the level of brokenness God is and will always be there to heal, restore, and comfort. Ecclesiastes 7:13-14 put it this way, “Consider the work of God, for who is able to straighten what He has bent? In the day of prosperity be happy, but in the day of adversity consider—God has made the one as well as the other so that man will not discover anything that will be after him.” Robin Williams once said, ” You will have bad times, but they will always wake you up to stuff you really weren’t paying attention to.” So today despite struggles, disappointments, and difficulties remember Psalm 91:1, “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest [peace] in the shadow [covering] of the Almighty!”
