Don’t count the Miracle-Worker out! God can change your situation around in an instance and if He decides not to change it immediately, He will give you strength to endure! In either case, you win because God can change impossible situations.
By now you should know that God sometimes moves mysteriously, but He will always provide what you need in miraculous ways. And ‘things’ will work out because God causes all things to work together for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28).
Truthfully, you have come too far to back down and quit. Trust God, as He is the omnipotent One. “God will guide you continually,” (Isaiah 58:11). “Don’t be anxious about anything” (Philippians 4:6), remember “God is your strength and power,” (2 Samuel 22:33). For God promised to “repay two blessings for each of your troubles.” (Zechariah 9:12)
So do what you can, and God will successfully execute what you can’t.
Deuteronomy 30:8-10 (NASB) “And you shall again obey the LORD, and observe all His commandments which I command you today. “Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; if you obey the LORD your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and soul!
The key to prosperity is obedience! C.S. Lewis said, “Obedience is the key that opens every door.” God has linked trust in him, i.e. faith, with obedience. All of God’s promises are conditioned upon our following His directions. And when we do then God’s promises are that we’ll have success and a life lived to its fullest.
Behind God’s promises is the premise of our obedience to His word. Therefore, if you want the work of your hand to prosper pay close attention to the prerequisite of God’s promises.
My beloved brothers and sisters it’s not a secret; when we follow God’s directions we live longer, lack nothing that is good, live in perfect freedom, have greater wisdom, dwell in peace and security, have success and prosper!
The pic cropped in the video meme below is an actual picture of my former colleague and brother in Christ Eric Stegall. When he posted this breathtaking picture I was blown away and the first caption that came to my mind was where faith meets action.
It’s no secret that faith being a verb rather than a noun requires action. Faith demands active behavior consistent with the belief that all things have a purpose far beyond the realm of today. Our understanding, then, is pretty much incidental to the faith we claim when it comes to our actions.
James 2:14-26 put it this way, “What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? 15 Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing, 16 and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well”—but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do?
17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.
18 Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.”
19 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. 20 How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless?
21 Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. 23 And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God. 24 So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone.
25 Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. 26 Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.”
Please note that works can’t save you because salvation is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8). However, God’s word in you should always trigger positive actions from you!
I am a Christ follower, but God knows that I am not close to perfect. He knows I am a work in progress and I am extremely grateful for His unfailing and amazing grace
Like everyone on this planet, I mess up, I stumble, and I fall short of God’s glory everyday (Romans 3:23). But thankfully, God’s grace is bigger than all my faults, mistakes and failures!
That being said, God’s amazing grace doesn’t grant me a license to purposely mess up, stumble, fail, and fall (Romans 6:2). However, it does remind me to be humble and that I am no better than anyone else. It also reminds me to see others through the same ‘grace’ lens God sees me through.
Paul understood this concept very well and after pleading with God 3x times to remove the ‘pride throne’ from his life God responded to his fervent petition in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Paul followed up in that same passage of text by saying, “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” Paul recognized that in order to understand the beauty of God’s Grace, one must first understand the ugliness of their sin.
So today remember there is no sin or past mistakes so great, no bitterness so deep that God’s amazing grace cannot transform the heart and rewrite the story.
Isaiah 43:18 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.” God doesn’t want us to dwell on the past because doing so can cause us to be stuck. There is no benefit in keeping one hand on the past and the other on the future!
It’s simply, when our focus is on the past, it’s too easy for us to feel sorry for ourselves. Or to focus on our regrets. Or to think that our best days are behind us. Worst of all, dwelling on our past can make us feel unthankful for all of the blessings in our lives, especially the blessings we have in the present.
Pay close attention to the next passage of text following verse 18 above: the Lord says, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (v19)
We we put these two verses together, we see that the Lord wants us to resist dwelling on the past so that we can “perceive” the “new thing” He wants to do in our lives. He knows that if we are unreceptive to the brand-new things He’s about to do, then we might delay or prevent them from coming to pass.
Beloved, please don’t miss the excitement that is in the Lord’s voice within these verses. He knows that what He has in store for all of us is far better than anything we could imagine. The Living Bible translation bears this out when it says, “But forget all that – it is nothing compared to what I’m going to do!” (v. 18)
We can also choose to follow Paul’s lead in Philippians 3:13-14, “…. Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Pray with me: Father God, I don’t want to miss out on any of the wonderful plans You have for my life. Teach me how to resist dwelling on the past in ways that will potentially stifle my future and the new thing You have in stored for me. Show me how to constantly move forward into the better things You have for me up ahead. Guard me from self-pity, feelings of regret, and unthankfulness, and help me to maintain an attitude of gratitude at all times. Thank You that as I keep my eyes of faith open, I will be able to perceive the new things You have in store for me! In JESUS’ name, AMEN
Sometimes staying the course is easier said than done, but I am a living witness that standing on God’s promises is never a waste of time!
To “stand on the promises of God” is not only to possess complete assurance in their fulfillment, but to live one’s life in faithful service to the One who made those promises. God has already fulfilled many of the promises He has made to mankind in the past.
The Bible shows that Abraham believed God’s promise and that the promise was fulfilled through Jesus Christ (Romans 4:1; Gal. 3:5-9, 16-18). God promised to give to Abraham’s seed the promised land of Canaan stating specifically what area the promise included (Genesis 15:18-20). This land promise was fulfilled in the days of Joshua. “And the Lord gave unto Israel all the land which he swore to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it and dwelt therein” (Joshua 21:43; See also 21:45). Many other examples of God’s fulfilled promises are found in the Bible, but I encourage you to put these 5 promises in your tool box:
☑️Promise #1: God Is Always with Me (I Will Not Fear) … ☑️Promise #2: God Is Always in Control (I Will Not Doubt) … ☑️Promise #3: God Is Always Good (I Will Not Despair) … ☑️Promise #4: God Is Always Watching (I Will Not Falter) … ☑️Promise #5: God Is Always Victorious (I Will Not Fail)
2 Corinthians 1:20 declares that, “For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.”
Beloved, if this message hits home for, I want to encourage you to keep standing and no matter how a situation looks in your life right now, you can always stand firm on the promises of God.
“Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.” 1 Kings 8:56
No matter what happens in our ever-changing world, God invites us to count on him because He never changes. God is immutable which simply means that He is unchanging over time or unable to be changed. Hebrews 13:8 confirms that, “Jesus Christ [God and the Holy Spirit] is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
Trusting in this incredible biblical truth is only helpful if it is true that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Look at it this way; if God arbitrarily changes His character, then how can we have confidence that what He has said He will do? If we can’t rely on Him to do what He has said, then we cannot have confidence and certainty, and it is impossible to run our race with endurance.
Come here Moses and help me testify of God’s immutability. In Exodus 32 Moses was spiritually delayed and the people in their impatience decided to build a golden calf and an alter to participate in pagan revelry. God test Moses, saying that He would destroy Israel because of what they did and start again with Moses. Moses remembered that God had promised to work through a specific lineage and that He couldn’t “start over” with Moses and still keep His word. When Moses appealed to God to “change His mind,” God did. It was a key lesson in the life of Moses, that God always keeps His word.
The Bible is filled with many more examples that testifies of God’s immutability. As born again believers we should unequivocally trust that God does exactly what He says He will do—without fail! We are not called to overthink, we are called to over trust!
