PREMISED!

My ministry is not necessarily premised on plurality rather it’s premised on singularity! If one person receives a message that God deposits in me to delivery, I’m honored and God is glorified!! It’s all about quality and authenticity!

EVERYDAY HUMILITY

In Luke 18:9-14 we learn about the parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. At the end of the day Jesus illuminates the fact that God exalts the humble. I think it is important to note that Jesus was speaking to the very people used as characters in this parable. You see, our Christian walk should be lived in the spirit of humility. Watch this in vv 11-13 the Pharisee essentially brags to himself whereas in contrast the Tax Collector begs for mercy. If we are truly broken-hearted over our sin, we can be assured of God’s boundless love and forgiveness in Christ. He has promised in His word to accept us, love us, and make us alive again through His Son (Colossians 2:13). No amount of good works, church attendance, tithes, community service, loving our neighbor or anything else we do is sufficient to take away the blot of sin and enable us to stand before a holy God on our own. Remember in Ephesians 2:8 that we are saved by grace through faith and not by our works. It behooves us not to make the mistake of comparing ourselves with others and gaining confidence from what we see in that comparison. Michael Houdmann said in his commentary of the Pharisee and Tax Collector, “When we try to justify ourselves by comparing ourselves to others, we naturally end up despising them. Our standard for comparison is God Himself, and we all fall short of His glory(Romans 3:23).” The Pharisee thought he knew God and the Tax Collector was seeking God out of a contrite heart. When David realized that his heart wasn’t right he sadly laments in Psalm 51:10, “Create in me a pure heart, oh, God, and renew Your right Spirit within me.” We should ask God everyday to cleanse our hearts and renew our spirits.

YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL!!

“You are more than flesh and bone
Can’t you see you’re something beautiful

Yeah you gotta believe, you gotta believe

He wants you to see, He wants you to see

That you’re not just some wandering soul

That can’t be seen and can’t be known

Yeah you gotta believe, you gotta believe that you are someone worth dying for!”

SEPARATED FROM GOD?

What or who can separate us from God?

Great question, I’m glad you asked. Check out what Paul said in Roman 8:38-39, “38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

You see God’s omnipotent, effective, protecting love may not spare us from certain calamities in this life, but His love will bring us safely into His everlasting joy and peace. So today remember that NOTHING could ever SEPARATE us from the love God has for us in Christ Jesus!!

GOT H2O?

How do you escape spiritual dehydration? Simple answer; drink plenty of ‘LIVING’ water. “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink” (John 7:37). Living like we really need Jesus-talking to Him and depending on His wisdom is vital to our spiritual well-being. So, stay connected to Jesus, for He alone can satisfy your thirsty soul!

Dear Lord, forgive me for thinking that I can do life without the Water of Your presence, advice, counsel,
comfort, and conviction. Thank You that You are indeed the LIVING water that I so desperately need in my life, in my family, in my relationship, in my community, in my vocation, and most of all in my relationship with You. In Jesus name amen and amen!’

YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN

20140518-070753.jpg

God chose you, therefore it doesn’t matter who rejects or neglects you. God’s favor alone out weighs all earthly and/or spiritual opposition. Watch this, 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 says, “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.” God promises never to leave nor forsake us so today place all of your trust in the God of your salvation, obey Him, and leave the consequences to Him!!
