Unfolding Destiny!

What happens during the times we are waiting on God to show up? Some of us are faithful and patient. But let’s be honest, for the most part we all have a tendency to whine, complain, and belly ache. If anybody had the right to complain in OT history it would have been Joseph. He was jacked for his Gucci jacket, dropped in a BBQ pit, sold into slavery, falsely accused of attempted rape, and placed in the king’s dungeon for 2+ years. Why? All because of God’s promise over his life. Joseph’s life was filled with what seemed to be setbacks on the surface however, God used each of these situations to mature him and ultimately set him up so that His plan would be manifested through him. In lieu of complaining Joseph pain was his key to promotion, he ministered to others in his darkest time, and he never tried to push his own agenda. Perhaps while we are waiting for God’s promise to manifest destiny we should do the same!

Spiritual Growth

“I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” (Ephesians 3:16-20)

Houston Astros Living Out History

Congrats Houston Astros for winning the pennant and now you are headed to the World Series. This was an incredible victory and yes, the Stros certainly deserve the praises, accolades and recognition they are receiving and I believe they will also win the the World Series! However, no one ‘earns history’. David said in Psalm 139:16, “You saw me before I was born. #Every #day of my life was #recorded in your #book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” I know ‘#earnhistory’ sounds catchy and we are required to #putinthework to achieve our goals but it’s equally important to remember that the Author and Perfecter pre-wrote every victory and He augments our failures for His glory and our good (Romans 8:28). Karl Marx once said, “Men make their own history, but they do not make it as they please; they do not make it under self-selected circumstances, but under circumstances existing already, given and transmitted from the past.” Paul said in Phil 1:6 says, “And I am certain that #God, who #began the good work within you, will continue #his work until it is finally #finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

Glory, Honor, and Praise!

The grave that once held Him for three days and nights became the power that redeems us today.

Children of God, until you begin to see yourself as royalty, you cannot attain to all that God has ordained for you. There are places and positions you shouldn’t be found again in destiny because Jesus has moved you up by His resurrection and He expects you to be at that level. If the power of hell could not hold Him down, no power can also stop you from rising up, If He rose, you too will rise. I therefore call on you today to arise from the place of shame, defeat and hopelessness. . I stand in faith with you that you will arrive at God’s ordained destiny for your life. Nothing will cut short your destiny. As God blessed Jesus in His house, so shall He bless you in your house! Rise up today and Him the glory, honor, and praise that He so rightfully deserves!

Stuck in A Valley?

Life is good on the mountaintops of celebration. But no matter how much we’d like to spend our lives up there, we need to walk through the valleys of challenges, too. Life is tough in the valleys. Still, there are valuable lessons we can learn in the valleys that we could never learn if we stayed on the mountaintops. One thing is certain; the valley of fear, detours, suffering, storms, discouragement, confusion, sickness, and correction are all temporal. Isaiah 54:10 says, “For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says the LORD who has compassion on you. I have learned that God will meet you in the valley, valleys aren’t meant to be mortgaged for 30 years, and sometimes valleys are a gift from God. Jesus is the Light of life, He is the Good Shepherd and a good shepherd does not lead His sheep into a deep dark valley and just leave them there. Hebrews 13:5 says, “He will never leave us nor forsake us.” I don’t know about you but in the midst of all my struggles and the fact that the valley is only a temporary place is worth shouting about because it is our reassurance that trouble don’t always last. Therefore, we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people [valley] do to me?” (Hebrews 13:6)

It’s Already Done!

God loves you whether you feel it or not! His love has been poured in your heart—in other words, in your spirit. And His love isn’t conditional upon your good actions, or holiness. You’ve got to start from this place that “God has already provided everything, and if I don’t feel His love, it’s not that God didn’t give; it’s that I don’t realize what I have.” Ephesians 1:3, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath [past tense] blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.” When you know that you have something, it takes the struggle out of it. It takes you out of condemnation. It takes you out of a legalistic mentality of trying to earn things from God. It removes doubt. How could you ever doubt that you’d get something that you already have? It’s really that simple. Looking at it this way, God has already done His part. When Jesus died on the cross, He said, “It is finished” (John 19:30). And the Scripture reveals in Ephesians 1:20 that He is now seated at the Father’s right hand. He’s not working anymore. He’s already done it. So remember, It’s not a matter of trying to get God to move in your life; it’s a matter of you moving over into agreement with Him and receiving what He has already provided.

NEED A HUG?!

People often disappoint us. They forget about us, or forget promises they made to us. But God never forgets His children! Paul said in 2 Cor 1:20, “For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for His glory.” One of the reasons why Joseph spent 2 additional years in Pharaoh’s dungeon was because the cup-bearer never gave him a second thought after his release (Genesis 40:23). However, unlike the chief butler our Chief Priest reminds us daily that He will never leave us nor forsake us and that He will be with us even until the end of this age. As it was for Joseph so shall it be with you. God gave Joseph the grace that gave him strength and comfort even in the darkest pit-filled moments in his life but God’s presence was like a hug wrapped around his neck day and night.

Be The Light💡!

I typically don’t go public with every service act of obedience for the Lord (Matthew 6:3-4) but this is a good story. After shopping at Kroger yesterday, I walked outside and notice an older gentleman sitting in his car waiting on his wife as she loaded a few bags. I could tell that he was a little frustrated so I yelled out, “Good afternoon sir.” He nodded and abruptly responded, “Come here!” At this point, I am thinking to myself ooh okay! He pulls out a $20 dollar bill and hands it to me. Of course, I’m shocked and my immediate response was, “Are you serious?” He gave me that grandpa look like, ‘Didn’t I give it to you!!’ So, I politely thanked him and proceeded to my car. After putting the groceries up, I went to return my cart. As I was returning the cart, I notice an older lady walking up so, I ask her if she needed this cart. She said, “No sir, but I just put $2 of gas in my car and I have to go see my dad at memorial hospital and I wanted to ask if you had a few bucks to spare so that I can get so more gas?” My first thought was this is a test. I sure wanted to keep that $20 bucks but here stood a lady who need was greater than mine and not to mention this man out of the blue just bless me because I chose to speak to him. So, if your still skimming this message you know what I did! I said, “Ms. God just blessed me with this $20 and I believe He wants to now bless you with it, so here it is and God bless and I hope all goes well with you and your dad.” Sometimes you don’t immediately see your position in God’s plan but this was experience blew my mind. It was a back-to-back experience. There is no real moral to this story however, I will say that it pays to be polite to people (man) and it pays to be obedient in giving (God). We live in a heartless world and it’s so important as Christians to share the goodness of God’s grace. We are called to be a light to an immorally dying world! Jesus said in Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Your NAME Has Significance!

Would you agree that names are important? Imagine a world where people didn’t have names? Your name is the main thing people ask for when they meet. It is the most important means by which someone can identify and refer to you. Our Heavenly Father understood the importance of names, that’s why He created them. He said in Isaiah 42:8, “I am the Lord; that is my name!……). There are over 16 names that describes God in the Old Testament times and of course each name was not only used for identification, but an His identity as well. The meanings behind God’s names reveal His central personality and nature. If God wants us to understand the importance of His name than it would behoove us to understand the value of our name. I can confidently say that most, if not all, names have significance. Lowell, derived from an English surname which was derived from a Norman French nickname, from lou “wolf” and “beloved”. Many people love their name and get angry when someone mispronounces and misspells it, but how can you feel that way without even knowing what your name means? It is important that you understand that meaning is the definition of initially obsolete words. By comprehending it, you can start to better understand your name; maybe you will soon start to notice some similarities between it and your characteristics.

Highs and Lows

Sometimes it’s just hard to do and say the right things at the right time. As humans we are limited to emotional highs and lows. At times, deception will integrate into our perception, which skews our thoughts, actions, and ultimately our judgement. Yes, we are flawed creatures hence our need for a savior, grace, mercy, forgiveness, revival, renewal, and restoration. When we make mistakes, we often worry that we’ve fallen out of God’s will. You’ve probably heard people talk about “missing out on God’s perfect will.” And now you’re afraid you’re permanently stuck with God’s plan B. On the contrary, God’s will for you is right where you’re standing, whether in the sunshine of your hopes, or the storm of your regrets. Beloved of God, if you’re living right now through the consequences of mistakes, whether sinful or not, God is still a forgiving heavenly Father. So when your mistakes feel like a 1,000 pounds strapped to your back, remember God’s forgiveness, grace, and mercy. Remember His faithfulness to you, His sovereignty over you, and providence for you. Remember that He has made a covenant promise to work all that out for your good and His glory!
