LOVE WITHOUT BORDERS!

Love that can be turned off and on is not love at all. This kind of love is driven by materialism, unreasonable expectations, lust, and insecurity. Legendary Evangelist Billy Graham said, “Nothing can bring a real sense of security in a home except true love.” The ‘real love’ Graham is referring to isn’t found in human vessels rather, it’s found in Christ living through human vessels! Ellen G.White polishes my point, “True love is not a strong, fiery, impetuous passion. It is, on the contrary, an element calm and deep. It looks beyond mere externals, and is attracted by qualities alone. It is wise and discriminating, and its devotion is real and abiding” We all need to cast a wider net and we all need to venture into deeper waters when it comes to demonstrating love (grace). As it stands, the greatest of all the communicable gifts that God has granted access to is love (1 Corinthians 13:13), so please don’t take it for granted!

GIVE THANKS

In I Thessalonians 5:18 Paul writes, “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus” and He also wrote in Ephesians 5:20, “And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Thanksgiving is not a season rather it’s a discipline, a command, and a biblical precept. I get it; when we experience life’s unexpectedness, hardships, and trials it’s difficult to give thanks. However, If you concentrate on finding whatever is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, hope, strength, comfort, and peace. Romans 8:28 confirms that “all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” This is the overreaching umbrella that covers us from the stones this life can sometimes drop on us!

TEST VS. TEMPT

God is the tester and Satan is the tempter. The tempter’s three primary attack strategies are; appetite of the flesh, worldly ambition, and spiritual allegiance. When Jesus was Holy Spirit led into wilderness to fast for 40 days/nights he was tempted in each of the areas listed above. Make note, the tempter’s intention is to exploit, pervert, and subvert God’s pre-programmed desires for the sole purpose of ensnaring and entrapping God’s people! In Matthew 4:3-10 the tempter used Jesus’ hunger, status, and allegiance strategically to get Him to fall! Jesus was cool as a fan and He chose to use that which was already written to thwart the tempter’s plan. Perhaps, the preamble, “It is written” was the precursor to, “It is finished.”

Here’s the good news,”The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” (I Cor 10:13) Satan tempts to get the worst out of us but God test to get the best out of us!

LENS OF GRACE

People are God’s prize and salvation in Christ is His gift to humanity! So stop bickering and fighting with the enemy; it’s pointless!
The next time you are in an argument, dispute or disagreement, ask God to let you see the situation through His lens. I betcha you’ll see things from an entire different perspective!

CHAMPIONS IN CHRIST

I have heard it said, “Offense scores points but defense wins championships!” I believe there is a lot of truth to this statement. In our spiritual walk it’s imperative that we stay in the Center of God’s word and His grace. Everyday we are war against the devil, the world, and our own flesh. Andrew Wommack said, “The best defense against the devil is to be so God-centered, that we give no place to Satan.” So today, if you are losing to Satan’s offense remember, the best defensive strategy is found in Ephesians 6:13! When we abide in the center of God’s word, plan, will and purpose, we become champions in Christ!

I salute you!

To my fellow Veterans and fallen soldiers thank you for your sacrificial service, courage, and commitment. You are the men and woman who chose to lay your life in the line of fire to protect and sustain peace for our country. John 15:13 says, “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” From the depths of my heart I say, you are more than a veteran; in my eyes you are my friend and today, I salute you! God bless you, your family, and the United States of America!

THANK YOU

Lord God, I believe in You, Your word, and Your Son. I believe in Your every promise, victory, and blessing. I believe that You will never lie, that your word will never return void, and that Jesus is my resurrected Savior. I believe You have heard every prayer, have counted every tear, and have blotted out every one of my sins. You love me despite of my arrogance, my pride, my ignorance, my rebellion, and my stubbornness. Even if I had 10,000 tongues, I couldn’t thank You enough. But still I say, Thank You, thank You, thank You, thank You, thank You, and thank You for never giving up on me! For Your glory alone, in Jesus name, amen!

#MerryChristmasStarbucks

Trump suggests boycotting Starbucks over the red cup buzz? He is over the top; for real!! I admit it was fun to bandwagon this initiative . However, I got to thinking, the cup is the message. Red is symbolic of Jesus’ blood that would be shared for a sinner like me. What’s funny is how a few of our clergy men and women responded to the challenge. Some even started using Ebonics for the first time! At the end of the day the value of an opinion is only valuable to the person stating it; no one is 100% right. There is a little bit of right and wrong in each us. Starbucks, my suggestion is to offer a sticker option and allow your customers to choose which sticker they want represented on their red cup…..just a thought!

WHAT’S YOUR VIEW?

False perception will create false conviction. The term perception is defined as the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses. Perception revolves around information and if you are lacking information how can you make an accurate assertion? You can’t, hence my opening statement. It’s incumbent upon us to process worldly info based on spiritual disciplines. English Poet William Blake said, “If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear as it is – infinite” Though we live in a liberal society that is quickly being overtaken by false and worldly precepts we do not immerse ourselves as fish in the fishbowl of the world; rather we immerse ourselves in the truth of the Bible. This is the only way we can live a victorious, God-honoring life.
